Todd commenced his training business, Todd Pollard Racing in February 2026 at Eagle Farm Racecourse, Brisbane. With an extensive background in racing, Todd has been passionate about training race horses since a young age. In 2018, he was selected to participate on the prestigious Godolphin Flying Start scholarship. The Flying Start program provided Todd with experience and exposure to some of the best people in the industry worldwide such as trainers Roger Varian (UK), Phil D’Amato (California) and Bjorn Baker (Sydney). Upon his return to New Zealand, Todd was employed as the Racing Manager for leading New Zealand based trainer, Stephen Marsh. During his time with Stephen, Todd shared in the success of New Zealand Derby winner Crown Prosecutor amongst various other stakes wins.

Todd then had the opportunity to move to Australia to work for Archibald Racing (formerly Neasham Racing) and started in Sydney as her Assistant Trainer. Todd worked alongside Annabel for 18 months, before the opportunity arose to move to Queensland and establish their newly formed satellite operation. They have had plenty of success over these years, including Group 1 wins with Bois D’argent and Sunshine In Paris alongside multiple Magic Million winners.

“I am fortunate to have grown up in Matamata, a hub for New Zealand racing. This set up a great foundation before gaining experience all over the world. This has led me to where I am now and I am excited to now be training on my own. I will look to be providing plenty of communication for owners to ensure they feel a part of the team and plenty of success on the track.”
